We must produce more energy right here in America, and Texas must lead the way. In addition to producing more American oil, we must do a better job of meeting our transportation and electricity needs with domestic, home-grown energy: natural gas, clean coal, wind, solar and nuclear.

We must continue to make Texas the flagship state for energy production. We must encourage exploration for energy here in Texas to help continue to make America more energy secure, solidify the long term viability of our state's energy industry and protect the hundreds of thousands of Texas jobs it represents. If we commit to producing energy domestically, the Texas energy industry will lead the way in economic growth and job creation and continue our long legacy of helping make America safer and less dependent on other nations for our core needs.
